The Washington Commanders selected running back Jacory Croskey-Merritt in the seventh round (No. 245 overall) of the 2025 NFL Draft. Croskey-Merritt, formerly of Arizona, New Mexico, and Alabama State, showcased his potential by earning Offensive MVP honors at the East-West Shrine Bowl, rushing for 97 yards and two touchdowns on 11 carries.
In Arizona’s season opener against New Mexico, he rushed for 106 yards on 13 carries, averaging 8.2 yards per attempt, and scored a touchdown. However, following that game, Croskey-Merritt was held out for the remainder of the season as the NCAA reviewed his eligibility status, ultimately leading to him missing the rest of the 2024 season. Since Croskey-Merritt missed mostly all of 2024 he did not get an invite to the NFL Combine. But at his Pro Day he measured in at 5’10”, 206 pounds, he ran a 4.45-second 40-yard dash and posted a 41.5-inch vertical jump.
Croskey-Merritt is a developmental prospect with intriguing upside. In dynasty leagues, he offers potential value if he can carve out a role in Washington’s backfield. However, in redraft leagues, he should be considered a deep sleeper or waiver wire target.
