Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson signs a one-year contract extension through 2026.
Green Bay Packers have signed wide receiver Christian Watson to a one-year extension worth up $13.25 million. Watson has had a problem dealing with injuries throughout his career so far. Currently, Watson is recovering from a torn ACL suffered in Week 18 last season. Watson was selected in the second round of the 2022 draft and was on his final year of his rookie contract, but now, this contract extension will make him with the team through the 2026 season.
So far in Watson’s career his best fantasy year was his rookie year in 2022, having 41 catches for 611 yards and 7 touchdowns, finishing as WR 34 on the year. But since has struggled to be on the field having less than 30 catches each of the last two seasons. He does have big play ability however; last season he averaged 21.38 yards per catch. Given his current situation seems odd to get an extension right now while dealing with his ACL, but once healthy he has to fight for targets with rookie Matthew Golden, Jayden Reed, and Romeo Doubs.
