Christian McCaffrey
Christian McCaffrey Reports no Limitations
3 weeks ago

The 49ers superstar running back reported to Underdog that he has no restrictions from either his Achilles or knee, giving a glimpse of hope for one more stellar season.

Christian McCaffrey is trying to rebound from his worst season of his career last year, averaging only 12 fantasy points per game and appearing in only 4 games. The team infamously put out a late report in the early parts of the 2024 season that McCaffrey was suffering from Achilles Tendonitis, sidelining him for 8 games and then a sprained PCL in week 12 took him out for the rest of the year.

McCaffrey will turn 29 this year, which used to be past retirement age for running backs, however we have seen plenty of backs posting monster seasons in this age range – Raheem Mostert was RB4 in 2023, Derrick Henry and Alvin Kamara showed no signs of slowing down last season and James Conner seemed to get better. Christian McCaffrey also has a pass catching element to his game that should allow him to age closer to a wide receiver’s curve than a 2 down grinder running back’s. With a FastDraft Flex 4 ADP in the middle of the second round,  taking a shot at CMC on the turn should be a lot more palpable than giving up the 1.01 for him like last season. He is one of the few players that could win you a league if all the chips fall right.
