The Carolina Panthers have hired Dan Morgan to be their General Manager as well as President of Football Operations. The 11th overall draft pick by the Panthers in 2001 certainly has the passion for the city of Charlotte which will be much needed.
With a 2-15 record that would normally garner the first overall pick in the draft, new GM Dan Morgan will have his work cut out for him. With 2,877 passing yards which ranked 20th in the league, quarterback Bryce Young is in desperate need of weapons around him. Adam Thielen, who turns 34 in August, was the lone bright spot in the offense, while Jonathan Mingo hasn’t shown much flash as he heads into his sophomore campaign alongside Bryce Young.
The Carolina Panthers are hoping that Morgan, who had 18 tackles in Super Bowl XXVIII can tackle the enormous undertaking of turning around the woeful franchise under the guise of the interloping team owner David Tepper. Starting with the 2024 NFL Draft, we will see if Dan Morgan can make a good chicken salad.
