Houston Texans win against the San Francisco 49ers 26-15 on Sunday during their Week 8 matchup.

The Houston Texans defeated the San Fransico 49ers 26-15 on Sunday.

Quarterback CJ Stroud was in total control completing 30 of 39 passes for 318 yards and two touchdowns, picking apart San Fransico’s defense.  This was Stroud’s first 300-yard game of the season, the last time he threw for more than that was Week 5 of the 2024 season.  With top wideout Nico Collins sidelined, Texans spread the ball around, Xavier Hutchinson stepped up as the primary playmaker catching 5 passes for 69 yards and a touchdown.  Texans’ two rookie wideout contributed as well Jaylin Noel added 5 receptions for 63 yards, where he showed poise and reliability in extended snaps.  Jayden Higgins caught 4 of his 8 targets for 34 yards and a score.  Texans ground game was solid as well having 157 total rushing yards on 36 carries.  Woody Marks led this Texans backfield rushing for 62 yards on 11 carries, he also added 4 catches for 49 yards through the air.

For the 49ers, quarterback Mac Jones struggled to sustain drives, finishing with 193 yards and two touchdowns, and one interception.  San Francisco’s offense never found its rhythm managing just 15 points on the road.  Christian McCaffery went missing during this game, only getting 8 carries for 25 yards adding 3 catches for 43 yards.  Jauan Jennings led all receivers with 45 yards on 4 catches.  George Kittle after posting a dud game, he showed up for National Tight End Day with 4 catches for 43 yards and a score.  The 49ers are waiting for Brock Purdy and Ricky Pearsall to return to their lineup.  Hopefully sooner rather than later.
