The Denver Broncos selected tight end Caleb Lohner from the University of Utah in the seventh round (No. 241 overall) of the 2025 NFL Draft.  Lohner, a 6-foot-7, 250-pound former basketball forward for BYU and Baylor, made a remarkable transition to football in 2024, joining the Utah’s football team as a tight end.  This move was a significant shift, as Lohner had not played football since middle school.  Lohner made an immediate impact for Utah.  He appeared in 12 games, recording four receptions, each resulting in a touchdown.  His ability to high point the ball and create mismatches in the red zone showcased his unique skill set.  Additionally, Lohner contributed to special teams by blocking a field goal against Utah State, demonstrating his versatility and athleticism.

For fantasy football, Lohner’s unique background and skill set make him an intriguing prospect.  While his immediate fantasy impact may be slim to none.  In dynasty leagues, Lohner represents a developmental player with high upside, especially if he continues to refine his football skills and secure a more prominent role in the offense.
