Brock Purdy Talks up Ricky Pearsall

Purdy and Pearsall are already working out together, building their chemistry.

Brock Purdy spoke at a charity event last night and confirmed that he’s already been working out with first-round draft pick Ricky Pearsall.

Purdy and Pearsall have been on a football field together before, during high school. In one game, Purdy’s team scored 70 points, but despite the score, Pearsall set a state record by gaining 250-300 receiving yards by himself. Purdy acknowledged Pearsall’s talent by saying, “So, he’s a baller.”

After discussing the game, Purdy made sure to mention that he is developing a rapport with Pearsall through throwing drills stating “Pearsall has the tools to be a good player” While Pearsall might have been the 2nd to last pick in the first round and the 6th wide receiver drafted in this year’s class, developing a good on-field connection with Purdy is a step in the right direction.

Pearsall’s value in the dynasty league is based on nothing but pure potential. Landing in a great situation, it will be difficult for Pearsall to produce a real fantasy impact in his rookie season with Deebo Samuel, Brandon Aiyuk, George Kittle, and pass-catching back Christian McCaffrey on the field. It will either take an off-season trade from Aiyuk or Deebo, or perhaps an injury to one of the two studs in front of Pearsall to give the rookie a chance at true volume. Either way, Pearsall is on the rise and dynasty managers should have faith in the process.
