Joe Mixon
Bengals are Trading Star Running Back Joe Mixon to the Houston Texans
8 months ago

RB Joe Mixon was expected to be released after the Bengals signed RB Zac Moss, now Mixon is traded to the Texans.

What a twist! Former Oklahoma running back Joe Mixon’s time in Cincinnati has come to an end. Formerly thought to be released as the Bengals signed running back Zac Moss on a 2-year deal Mixon was traded to the Houston Texans for an undisclosed draft pick. Mixon was a productive all purpose back in his 7 seasons as a Bengal. Totaling 6,412 rushing yards, 49 rushing touchdowns along with 283 catches for 2,139 receiving yards.

The Houston Texans were 28th in rushing yards per game last season. Trading for a proven back in Joe Mixon will serve to help Offensive Rookie of the Year CJ Stroud to find some balance to his offense. While Stroud strived under the pressure of carrying a team unlike we have ever seen before from a rookie quarterback, he could benefit from a threat in the backfield. Mixon may not be the most explosive back, he is a great receving option out of the backfield catching at least 30 receptions per season when heathy. Look for Mixon to continue his same role in a Texans uniform.

Look for Mixon to be a great late round RB option in your leagues. He should still benefit from great quarterback play this season. With Mixon being age 28 this upcoming season, he is a juicy sell/trade option in dynasty. Owners of Mixon have to ask, do you bank on a productive season or do you sell high?
