The newest NFL trend seems to be employing more than one capable running back. With Bijan Robinson and Tyler Allgeier already in the building, the Atlanta Falcons used a 6th round pick to draft Alabama ball carrier Jase McLellan. At 5’11” and 212lbs, McLellan has prototypical size, and at just 21 years old on draft day, he is one of the younger backs in the class.

McLellan’s best season came as a Senior in 2023, when he rushed for over 800 yards and 6 TD’s. McLellan’s production as a runner and lack of involvement in the passing game doesn’t hint at an outsized role in the NFL or much fantasy impact, however, it remains to be seen whether that’s a product of his talent or the Alabama offensive system.
