Aaron Rodgers
Aaron Rodgers Done in Pittsburgh?

With head coach Mike Tomlin stepping down, it is expected that there will be a new starting quarterback for the Steelers.

The Steelers have plenty of transitions to consider in 2026. With Mike Tomlin stepping down as head coach and Aaron Rodgers a pending free agent, expect the Steelers to move on with a new starting quarterback.

A new head coach will help reveal the path the Steelers will take in filling the position. With the 21st pick in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft, the question will become as to whether Alabama’s Ty Simpson will be available and whether the Steelers would have interest. Free agents Daniel Jones and Malik Willis will be names to monitor as is the status via trade for one of Kyler Murray (Cardinals) or Tua Tagovailoa (Dolphins).

Speculation of a quest to the Vikings will fan flames of Rodgers returning for a 22nd NFL season. On the Steelers front, Will Howard and Mason Rudolph don’t inspire much confidence for fantasy football purposes.
