NFL Network’s Ian Rappaport is reporting Giants running back Cam Skattebo is unlikely to suit up for Sunday’s Week 9 matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles as he continues recovering from a hamstring injury. With Tyrone Tracy Jr. on injured reserve, the Giants are down to just two healthy running backs on their active roster: Devin Singletary and Gregory Desrosiers.

Singletary figures to handle the lion’s share of backfield touches, making him a volume-driven RB2 for Week 9. Desrosiers, an undrafted rookie out of Memphis recently signed off the Chargers’ practice squad, flashed in the preseason with 166 rushing yards on just 23 carries. While Singletary is the clear fantasy play, managers in deeper and dynasty formats should keep an eye on Desrosiers, who could carve out a role in New York’s depleted backfield if Skattebo faces a multi-week absence.
