The New England Patriots plan to cut ties with Stefon Diggs after one season.
During the lead-up to the Super Bowl, Stefon Diggs said he plans on playing “until the wheels fall off.” If he does that, it won’t be in a Patriots uniform in 2026. Per multiple reports, New England plans on releasing the 32-year-old WR at the start of the new league year on March 11.
Diggs was solid in his lone season catching passes from QB Drake Maye, reeling in 85 receptions for 1,013 yards and four TDs. He finished as WR21 on a per game basis, averaging 12.4 fantasy PPG. However, he sputtered in the playoffs, catching just 14 passes for 110 yards and one score across four games.
We’ll see if Diggs latches on anywhere next season, but his days as a reliable fantasy producer might be over. Between the off-the-field issues and searching for his third team in three years, Diggs could have a tough time landing another meaningful opportunity in 2026.
