Josh Cameron Bio

Josh Cameron is a wide receiver and 2026 NFL Draft prospect who played his entire collegiate career at Baylor University. A native of Cedar Park, Texas, Cameron joined the Bears as an unrecruited walk-on in 2021 after going unnoticed by major programs despite strong production in high school. He earned a scholarship through his performance in spring camp and gradually worked his way into the starting lineup, posting 28 receptions for 386 yards as a redshirt freshman in 2022. After a quieter 2023 campaign in which he added 21 catches for 224 yards, Cameron broke out in 2024 with 52 receptions for 754 yards and 10 touchdowns, earning first-team All-Big 12 and second-team All-America honors. He capped his career in 2025 as the team's unquestioned top option, leading Baylor with 69 receptions for 872 yards and nine touchdowns while serving as the team's primary punt returner and earning his second consecutive first-team All-Big 12 selection. He was also a Burlsworth Trophy semifinalist, which honors college football's most outstanding player who began his career as a walk-on.

Listed at 6-foot-1 and 224 pounds, Cameron is a physically imposing receiver with a densely built frame that resembles a running back at the wide receiver position. He plays with strong contact balance and reliable hands, logging just seven career drops on 261 targets, and demonstrates an advanced feel for finding soft spots against zone coverage. He is an effective and willing stalk blocker and a capable punt returner who averaged 14 yards per return across his career and posted a 20.7-yard average in 2024. NFL evaluators project Cameron as a Day 3 selection with the ability to contribute immediately on special teams, carve out a role as a possession receiver, and develop into a chain-moving complementary target in an offense that values physicality in the short and intermediate areas of the field.
