Lions Hope Isaac TeSlaa Will Add Spark to Offense
3 months ago

The Detroit Lions have traded Tim Patrick to the Jaguars, opening up a clear opportunity for rookie 3rd-round pick Isaac TeSlaa to shine as the team’s #3 receiver.

A two-year contributor at Arkansas, 23-year-old Isaac TeSlaa has looked like a real weapon this preseason, catching 10 of 13 targets for 146 yards and three touchdowns in limited action. The Detroit Lions are going to give him a chance to shine this season after trading veteran Tim Patrick to the Jaguars.

This appears to open up an opportunity for TeSlaa to operate as the team’s clear number three receiver. The offense has demonstrated its ability to support a plethora of pass catchers and offensive playmakers. Tesla has been a late-round dart throw in redraft leagues. After the Tim Patrick trade, I’d expect his ADP to rise a couple of rounds and would look to buy around the 12th.

Isaac TeSlaa Lighting Things Up in the Preseason
3 months ago

Detroit Lions rookie wide receiver Isaac TeSlaa is giving shades of rookie Puka Nacua after a sizzling preseason.

Isaac TeSlaa is gaining plenty of buzz and rightly so. The Detroit Lions rookie wide receiver has had 8 catches, 146 receiving yards, and 3 touchdowns this preseason. He has scored in 3 out of 4 preseason games.

While the NFL scouting industrial complex wasn’t high on TeSlaa, the Lions thought enough to draft him with the 6th pick in the 3rd round of the 2025 NFL Draft. His 4.43 40-yard dash and 115.7 97th percentile speed score were enough to get the attention of GM Brad Holmes and HC Dan Campbell.

On Underdog, TeSlaa has jumped 2 rounds in the last week from the early 18th round to the middle of round 16. On FastDraft, TeSlaa is a free square in The Rabbit contest as he has only been drafted in 1.9% of drafts. TeSlaa presents a great arbitrage value against the field in mass best ball tournaments and is a worthy late round flier in redraft leagues.

Hall of Fame Game Standout Performances

The NFL opened up their preseason schedule with the annual Hall of Fame Game between the Los Angeles Chargers and Detroit Lions.

The Hall of Fame game was the Trey Lance show, he went 13/20 for 120 yards and two touchdowns, connecting with Will Dissly and Chargers rookie KeAndre Lambert-Smith. Lambert-Smith caught two passes for 43 yards and that touchdown, building on his strong showings in training camp. Last year’s 6th round pick Kimani Vidal also punched in two touchdowns for the Chargers.

Detroit Lions third round rookie Isaac TeSlaa made a few nice plays grabbing two passes for 46 yards. Craig Reynolds carried the load in the backfield for the Lions taking 10 carries for 38 yards and a touchdown.

The Chargers defense and special teams looked at the top of their game as they kicked off the NFL preseason, recording five turnovers. TeSlaa and Lambert-Smith were the most notable fantasy relevant performances, expect to see each of them start to go off the board in the later rounds of drafts.
