With Breece Hall’s future uncertain, New York Jets running back Braelon Allen presents tremendous value in drafts.
The New York Jets backfield is shaping up to be a fantasy goldmine in 2025. Breece Hall is going near the 4-5 turn in drafts while 2nd year back Braelon Allen is being drafted at the 11-12 turn.
Drafters can benefit from both backs being a part of their plans, but Allen has hidden value that doesn’t appear to the naked eye. Should Breece Hall get traded between now and the 2025 NFL trade deadline, Allen would be a top-12 weekly running back.
Allen gets comparisons to Detroit Lions running back David Montgomery. The archetype, skillset, and focus on the 1-2 punch rung game offensive philosophy make for an apt comparison. With that thought in mind, Allen goes 4 rounds cheaper than David Montgomery (round 7 ADP). Keep an eye on the Jets backfield as Allen will have weekly value and would take off in a big way to be a league winner should Hall either miss time or get traded to another team.

Reports out of New York Jets camp, is that running back Braelon Allen is looking “nasty”.
It appears that rookie running back Braelon Allen is already turning heads at Jets camp. Allen was drafted in the fourth round in April, along with Isaiah Davis who was selected in the fifth round. Allen is a big back who can break tackles leading to plenty of yards after contact and normally converts on short-yardage situations.
In Wisconsin, Allen was a workhorse who rushed 597 times for 3,494 yards, and 35 touchdowns. Even with his size, the running back was also effective in the receiving game by bringing in 49 receptions for 275 yards in three seasons with the Badgers. Allen was the 11th running back taken in the draft.
The depth chart behind Breece Hall is in disarray and Allen is seizing the opportunity early on. With the emergence of Allen and Davis also in town, Israel Abanikanda has seen himself free fall down the depth chart. For now, Allen should be drafted in the second round of rookie drafts and can be taken as a flier later in re-drafts since he is the leading candidate to be Hall’s handcuff.

South Dakota State’s Isaiah Davis ran in the 16th best 40-yard dash at the 2024 NFL combine for running backs at 4.57. Measuring at 6′ and 218lbs, Davis has the size NFL teams look for in a short distance running back.
While in college Davis ran like a Jackrabbit, during his junior year he ran over 1,400 yards and 15 touchdowns, but Davis surpassed those numbers rushing for more than 1,500 yards and 18 touchdowns in his senior season. He showed that he can withstand the bulk of carries with his size and strength.
Davis’ most comparable comparison looks to be Jordan Howard, who will serve as a backup role and can be a spot starter in the next level. He may get goal line carries due to his size and strength but looks to be a Day 3 pick.
