We finally have a timeline for De’Zhaun Stribling’s ankle injury, and its not great. While Maiocco says the team believes he will return this season, the 10 week timeline would see Stribling returning week 12 for their bout against the Seattle Seahawks, about 2-3 weeks before the fantasy football playoffs begin in most leagues, assuming the team sticks to the timeline and there are no setbacks.
In the meantime, teammates Demarcus Robinson and Deebo Samuel will likely see increased opportunities after logging 63% and 41% of total snaps against Los Angeles, trailing only Mike Evans‘ 75% snap share. Despite the large gap in overall snap counts, Deebo ran only two fewer routes than Robinson, and was targeted at a much higher rate. The target hierarchy will get murkier after week 5, when Christian Kirk is eligible to come off of IR, so fantasy managers should continue to monitor how these players are deployed in the coming weeks if they hope to take advantage of Stribling’s vacated targets.

Rapoport reports that De’Zhaun Stribling has a deltoid sprain in his ankle which is expected to keep him out at least a month. Stribling is seeking more opinions, and surgery is a possibility if it doesn’t improve on its own – which would shelve him for the rest of the 2026 season. Either way, this is already a brutal loss for the 49ers after already losing Ricky Pearsall for the season with a PCL injury.
Fantasy Football managers will have to hope Stribling can avoid surgery. After being a surprise early 2nd round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, Stribling has impressed enough all offseason to rise up to No. 55 in PlayerProfiler’s WR dynasty rankings. At least for now, it’s next man up in San Francisco.

The 49ers and fantasy football managers alike are hoping that this is just a scare and nothing serious, as Stribling is expected to have a key role for the 49ers after losing WR Ricky Pearsall for the season to a PCL injury. Despite all the injuries and multiple mistakes, Brock Purdy was able to will the Niners to a wild card playoff win against the defending NFL champion Philadelphia Eagles. Purdy finished the game completing 18/31 passes for 262 passing yards with 2 interception and 2 Touchdowns. Wide reciever Demarcus Robinson was the unlikely playmaker for the Niners with 6 receptions for 111 yards and a touchdown. In a sad scene, superstar tight end George Kittle tore his achilles, putting his status in question for the start of the 2026 season.
The Niners are still a potent offense even when they struggle and are ravaged with injuries. Christian McCaffrey is still a force to be reckoned with especially with his injury history. All of the Niners offensive weapons are targets when healthy, head coach Kyle Shanahan is too good at scheming to not partake.

Ian Rapoport reports that wide receiver Demarcus Robinson will be heading to the San Francisco 49ers on a 2-year, $9.5 million deal. The 8th year veteran will get $6 million guaranteed.
There has been plenty of movement by the 49ers as of late. Recently, Deebo Samuel was traded to the Washington Commanders and Brandon Aiyuk has been the subject of trade rumors. With Robinson being brought in, this could be a smaller pebble move which helps move a bigger rock in Brandon Aiyuk for a trade.
Demarcus Robinson is a low cost player who is capable of spike weeks. In week 9 last season against the Seattle Seahawks he had 27.4 fantasy points as the WR-5 on the week. The problem is the very next week Robinson was the WR-72. Keep an eye on Brandon Aiyuk possibly being traded. In the meantime, treat Demarcus Robinson as a best ball dart throw going in round 20 on Underdog.

In another case of players making bad decisions, the LA Rams wide reciever Demarcus Robinson was arrested for driving over 100 MPH on a highway and displayed “objective signs and symptoms of alcohol impairment.” The Rams decided not to suspend Robinson until the legal process is played out, as well as letting the League go through it’s disciplinary process. Head coach Sean McVay said “I think it was a bad decision he made. I don’t think that makes him a bad person. And I do believe this is something that with the words that he said, our guys will learn from it, and hopefully nobody’s ever going to repeat something like this.”
This is clearly not good for Robinson’s fantasy outlook, as he is likely to be suspended for a few games next season. Robinson had a chance to showcase his skills this season when both Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua were injured, he only accounted for 31 catches 505 receiving yards and 7 touchdowns. He will be entering next season aged 31 and is 3rd on the Rams depth chart. Robinson will be a handcuff option at best next season.
