Wydett Williams Bio

Wydett Williams

Wydett Williams Jr. is a safety and 2026 NFL Draft prospect who finished his collegiate career with the Ole Miss Rebels after previous stops at Delta State and Louisiana-Monroe. A native of Lake Providence, Louisiana, Williams attended St. Helena College and Career Academy and began his collegiate career at Division II Delta State, where he played in 23 games over two seasons and recorded 72 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, and six pass deflections. He then transferred to Louisiana-Monroe for the 2024 season, emerging as one of the Sun Belt's top defenders with 90 tackles, four tackles for loss, a sack, three interceptions, and a forced fumble across 13 games. After joining Ole Miss as a relatively unheralded three-star transfer ahead of the 2025 season, he quickly established himself as a key contributor in the Rebels' secondary, starting eight consecutive games and finishing with 60 tackles, three interceptions, and eight pass breakups while helping Ole Miss reach the College Football Playoff. His rapid ascent from Division II to playing a featured role in the SEC drew widespread attention from NFL evaluators.

Standing 6-foot-2 and approximately 205 pounds, Williams is known for physicality near the line of scrimmage, strong instincts in run support, and the ball skills that generated six career interceptions across multiple levels of competition. His combination of production at three different programs, rapid adjustment to SEC-level competition in his final season, and a hard-hitting style that projects well to special teams at the next level have positioned him as a developmental safety prospect with the athletic traits, size, and versatile background to compete for a roster spot and grow into a rotational defensive role at the professional level.
