Tyler Batty is a 6-foot-5, 275-pound defensive end from Payson, Utah, who played five seasons at Brigham Young University (BYU). A former three-star recruit, Batty served a two-year mission in Spain before joining the Cougars in 2020. Over his collegiate career, he became BYU’s active career leader in sacks, recording 15 by the end of the 2024 season. In his final year, Batty earned First-Team All-Big 12 honors after posting 59 tackles, 7.0 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, and two interceptions. He also led the team with 29 quarterback pressures, showcasing his ability to disrupt opposing offenses.
Batty’s leadership extended beyond the field; he served as a team captain in 2024 and was named to the All-State AFCA Good Works Team, recognizing his community service efforts. He was also a nominee for the Wuerffel Trophy, awarded to college football’s top community servant. Batty participated in the 2025 NFL Combine and the East-West Shrine Bowl, where he impressed scouts with his versatility and high motor. While he is considered a Day 3 prospect, his combination of size, experience, and leadership makes him a compelling candidate for teams seeking a reliable edge rusher.
