Tobias Merriweather Bio

Tobias Merriweather is a wide receiver and 2026 NFL Draft prospect who finished his collegiate career at the University of Utah after previous stops at Notre Dame and the University of California. A native of Camas, Washington, Merriweather was a consensus four-star recruit in the class of 2022, ranked as high as the No. 79 overall player nationally and the No. 11 wide receiver by 247Sports. He signed with Notre Dame, where he appeared in 24 games over two seasons and totaled 15 catches for 305 yards and three touchdowns, with his best season coming in 2023 when he hauled in 14 catches for 284 yards and two scores. After entering the transfer portal, he signed with California for the 2024 season, appearing in five games and adding 11 receptions for 125 yards before a second portal move sent him to Utah for his final season, where he posted seven receptions for 105 yards while dealing with an undisclosed injury that limited his availability.

Standing 6 feet 5 inches and around 195 pounds, Merriweather brings rare length and a large catch radius to the wide receiver position along with the track speed and body control that attracted major programs throughout his recruitment. He is known for his smooth route running, soft hands, and ability to adjust to off-target throws in the air. The challenge for evaluators has been projecting his potential given the injury-hampered seasons that limited his on-field production across four years at three programs. His combination of size, athleticism, and pedigree as a former top-100 recruit positions him as a developmental wide receiver with upside at the next level, where his physical traits and ability to create mismatches against smaller defenders could earn him a roster opportunity.
