Sean Tucker was rated a 3-star recruit out of Owings Mills, Maryland. He received multiple offers, but committed to Syracuse. Tucker was noted as having exceptional athleticism because he ran track and played on both sides of the ball in high school. Tucker arrived on campus as a backup, but the chaos of the Covid season provided him an opportunity to seize the starting role.
