Kavontae Turpin

Dallas Cowboys All-Pro return specialist KaVontae Turpin was arrested on Saturday, July 5, 2025, in Allen, Texas, after being pulled over for speeding at 97-mph in a 70-mph zone.  Authorities reported seeing an unholstered 9 mm pistol in plain view in the backseat and discovering less than two ounces of marijuana in the center console.  He was booked on misdemeanor charges for marijuana possession and unlawful carrying of a weapon, then released Sunday morning after posting bond.

Turpin, 28, remains under contract with Dallas after signing a three-year, $18 million extension in March.  His return game in 2024 was elite, leading the NFL with 904 kickoff return yards and scoring on both a punt and kickoff.  He earned him First-Team All-Pro and a Pro Bowl nod.  On offense, he accounted for 31 receptions, 420 yards, and 2 TDs, emerging as a potential WR3/slot threat in Brian Schottenheimer’s system.
