Jalen Huskey is an American college football defensive back and 2026 NFL Draft prospect who finished his collegiate career with the University of Maryland Terrapins after transferring from Bowling Green State University. A native of Frederick, Maryland, Huskey attended Quince Orchard High School before joining Bowling Green, where he made an immediate impact in the secondary and earned First Team All-MAC honors. He transferred to Maryland in 2024 and became a full-time starter, bringing size and playmaking ability to the Terrapins’ defensive backfield. Over his final two seasons in College Park, Huskey started 23 games, tied for the team lead with four interceptions in 2025, ranked second on the team with 72 tackles, and was named Second Team All-Big Ten by both coaches and media. He also blocked a kick and recovered a fumble in his Maryland debut season and served as a defensive leader on and off the field.
Measured at 6-2 and 201 pounds, Huskey possesses an uncommon blend of size, instincts and versatility that has drawn interest from NFL scouts. His ball skills, range in coverage, and willingness to tackle near the line of scrimmage have helped him excel both as a safety and in centerfield roles, and he was invited to compete in the 2026 East-West Shrine Bowl and is on the Senior Bowl Top 300 list of draft-eligible prospects. His performance against Power Five competition and his progression throughout his college career position him as a promising defensive back prospect with the potential to contribute at multiple spots in the secondary at the next level.
