Jakobe Thomas Bio

Jakobe Thomas

Jakobe Thomas is a safety and NFL Draft prospect who played college football for the Miami Hurricanes football at the University of Miami. A native of Starkville, Mississippi, Thomas attended Tullahoma High School in Tennessee, where he was a multi sport athlete and an all region performer. He began his collegiate career with the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders football, redshirting in 2021 before emerging as a key contributor in 2022 when he recorded four interceptions and returned one for a touchdown. After three seasons at Middle Tennessee, he transferred to the Tennessee Volunteers football for the 2024 season, where he appeared in 13 games and contributed as a rotational defensive back before later transferring again to Miami ahead of the 2025 season.

Standing 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighing about 200 pounds, Thomas developed into a productive defensive back during his lone season at Miami. In 2025 he appeared in 16 games and recorded 76 total tackles, 3.5 sacks, five interceptions, and six pass breakups while helping anchor the Hurricanes’ secondary. Across his college career at Middle Tennessee, Tennessee, and Miami, Thomas accumulated more than 200 total tackles and nine interceptions while showcasing versatility as both a coverage safety and physical run defender. His ball production and experience across multiple Power Five and Group of Five programs helped place him on the radar of NFL scouts entering the draft process.
