Running Back Damien Martinez, formerly of Miami (FL), was selected by the Seattle Seahawks in the seventh round (Pick 223) of the 2025 NFL Draft. Standing 6’0″ and weighing 232 pounds, Martinez showcased his physical prowess and versatility during his time at Miami and previously at Oregon State. In 2024, Martinez rushed for 1,002 yards and 10 touchdowns. He also contributed 204 receiving yards on 17 receptions.
For fantasy football, Martinez’s combination of size, speed, and receiving ability makes him a compelling option. His proficiency in both rushing and receiving could translate well into fantasy football, especially in PPR formats.

Miami Hurricane Running Back Damien Martinez posted a 4.51 40-yard dash at the 2025 NFL Combine.
Damien Martinez is a name that dynasty managers should come to know soon after the workout metrics he put up at the 2025 NFL combine. Martinez just turned 21 years old, and posted a 74th-percentile 40-yard dash (4.51) and an 80th-percentile speed score (104.9). Martinez comes in a hair under 6’0″ and weighs 217 lbs.
Per RAS.football, Martinez put up an 8.52u RAS, which ranks 284 out of 1909 running backs dating back to 1987. Martinez handled 165 or more touches during his three years in college. While not much of a pass catcher, he improved in total receptions each season. Martinez earned a 6.18 Prospect Grade from Lance Zierlein, which indicates that he should be a good backup with the potential to develop into a starter.
Martinez is worth a late-round dart-throw in dynasty leagues. He’s projected as a 5th-round selection for the 2025 NFL draft, per NFL Mockdraft Database.com.

Damien Martinez declared for the NFL draft after his junior year and will look to raise his draft stock at the Senior Bowl.
Damien Martinez is a bruising back at 6’0, 230 lbs who looks to impose his physicality on defenders to gain extra yardage. He’s shown an ability to be efficient at both Oregon State and Miami, gaining greater than 6 yards per carry and 10 yards per catch in each of his three collegiate seasons. Martinez is flying under the radar a bit and is going undrafted in some early mock draft databases, but look for that to change once his measurements come in.
Martinez has traits that warrant fantasy managers attention: size, explosiveness, being an early declare, and most importantly, having the archetype to potentially be a bell cow at the next level. The closest player comparison determined from my film review in terms of running style was James Conner.
Keep an eye out for Martinez to gain momentum throughout the draft process and rise up dynasty draft boards over the next few months.
