CJ West Bio

CJ West is a 6-foot-1, 316-pound defensive tackle who played five seasons of college football, first at Kent State University and then at Indiana University. A native of La Grange Park, Illinois, West began his collegiate career with the Golden Flashes, where he started 35 of 39 games over four years. During his tenure at Kent State, he accumulated 110 tackles, 19.5 tackles for loss, and seven sacks. In 2023, he earned third-team All-Mid-American Conference honors, recording 40 tackles, seven tackles for loss, and two sacks. After his senior season, West transferred to Indiana University for his final year of eligibility. In his lone season with the Hoosiers, he recorded 42 tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss, and two sacks, continuing to demonstrate his prowess as a disruptive force on the defensive line.

Known for his strength, quickness, and high motor, West has been recognized for his ability to disrupt the run game and anchor the defensive line. He participated in the 2025 Shrine Bowl, where he impressed scouts with his performance. Despite limited pass-rushing moves and a need for improved fundamentals, his ability to tackle runners in the backfield makes him a valuable asset. Projected as a 5th–6th round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, West could be a valuable addition to teams looking to strengthen their interior defensive line.
