CeeDee Lamb Athleticism

Who is CeeDee Lamb

CeeDee Lamb’s sublime talent that includes a 4.5 second 40-yard dash and his spectacular collegiate production prompted the Dallas Cowboys to draft Lamb with the No. 17 overall pick in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft. His rookie season was fantastic. He put together over 1,000 yards from scrimmage, including 935 yards as a receiver. He hauled in 74 receptions and also scooted for a 47-yard kick return touchdown. With a very good rookie season under his belt that culminated in Lamb finishing as the WR18, expectations were for him to make the leap into the stratosphere among the greats at the wide receiver position. That particular jump did not occur, but he did improve his numbers across the board as a sophomore. He added five more receptions to his tally from his rookie season, finishing the 2021 season with 79 (No. 20) catches. He finished last season with 1,102 (No. 14) receiving yards and six (No. 20) total touchdowns.

Lamb began the 2021 season strong, but could do the same to end the season. He registered at least 81 receiving yards in five of Dallas’ first seven games, including exceeding the century mark three times. He hauled in six receptions four times in that span. He went for at least 81 yards twice in his last nine games. He had more games with four or fewer receptions (5) than six or more (4). His nine drops ranked sixth among wide receivers But Lamb still finished with a 20.4-percent target share, 24.4-percent air yards share, 21 deep targets, 406 yards after catch (No. 15), 9.2 (No. 20) Yards Per Target and 2.27 (No. 12) Yards Per Route Run. He ended up as the WR17 in fantasy, not quite the WR13 his ADP settled at before the season. Lamb was on pace for a breakout season until injuries and the Cowboys' offense as a whole cooled Lamb down. Perhaps the 2022 season is when it will all come together for him and the Cowboys, especially with Amari Cooper, Cedrick Wilson and their 165 targets now out of the picture.
