Omar Cooper Jr. Backs Up First-Round Buzz At NFL Combine
23 hours ago

The Indiana wideout showed off his skills at the NFL Combine and came away a winner.

The Indiana junior was a trendy first-round projection over the past few weeks, and his performance at the NFL Scouting Combine should only strengthen that buzz. After getting a glowing endorsement from his quarterback, Fernando Mendoza — who compared him to “a prime Deebo Samuel” — Omar Cooper Jr. turned in a solid all-around showing. He measured in at 6’0”, 199 pounds and posted an impressive 4.47 40-yard dash, 1.55 10-yard split, and 37” vertical jump.

Talk of Cooper going in the back-half of Round 1 will only intensify after this weekend. Teams like the 49ers, Bills, and Patriots could all be potential landing spots. They’d be getting a wideout who averaged 6.6 YAC per reception across three seasons and forced 27 missed tackles in 2025. Cooper increased his receptions, yardage, and touchdown total every year at Indiana, capping off his collegiate career with 69 catches for 937 yards and 13 TDs.

For fantasy, Cooper has rookie season WR3 upside if he lands with a quarterback like Brock Purdy, Josh Allen, or Drake Maye. Expect him to start creeping into the back end of Round 1 in dynasty rookie drafts from now through the NFL Draft.
