Malik Nabers
Malik Nabers Not Practicing

New York Giants star Wide Receiver, Malik Nabers, has missed another practice while dealing with a toe injury.

Malik Nabers has missed another day of practice for the New York Giants. This information may be insignificant, but he has a history of toe injuries dating back to his college days. Head Coach Brian Daboll says, “This was part of the plan, and he is fine,” and declines to answer questions about whether further tests are needed. One thing to keep in mind is that missing practice might not be an issue, and we should be more concerned if he starts to miss games. Let’s not skip the fact that he is missing essential reps and opportunities to build chemistry with the new quarterbacks.

As a rookie, he posted 109 receptions, 1204 yards, and seven touchdowns in fifteen games for the Giants and was the focal point in that offense, catapulting him into the ranks as one of the league’s best wide receivers. Reports from joint practices with the New York Jets indicate that if Nabers is not on the field, the offense struggles to move the ball. The Giants did little in the off-season to address additional pass-catching support, and all signs indicate Nabers will be in line for another productive season. Adding veteran quarterbacks Russel Wilson and Jameis Winston, and drafting rookie Jaxson Dart, is an upgrade from last season’s Daniel Jones, Drew Lock, and Tommy DeVito.

The toe injury is something to continue monitoring moving forward, if more serious precautions are taken, but we should not be fading Nabers over it as he produced at an amazing rate last season, dealing with this issue.
