The Detroit Lions and wide receiver Jameson Williams have agreed to a three-year contract extension worth up to $83M
The Detroit Lions have locked up one of their young wide receivers. Jameson Williams put pen to paper, agreeing to a three-year extension worth a max of $83M. He is a player who can break the game wide open and brings a different element to the Lions’ offense with his blazing speed and ability to separate from defenders downfield.
Williams has been an intriguing prospect since being drafted twelfth overall by the Lions in the 2022 NFL draft. He has dealt with an ACL tear and two suspensions in his career. Last season, we caught a glimpse of the production Williams can provide, finishing the season with 58 receptions, 1062 total yards, and eight touchdowns. The offseason hype has continued to grow for Williams as reports have stated he has developed an expanded route tree and will be utilized more in the offense. With the departure of Ben Johnson, the Lions will look for new ways to stay a high-powered offense, and Jameson Williams getting a larger role might just be key to continued success.
