The Hitchhiker’s Guide to RB: Quarter-Finals

by Jakob Sanderson, December 13, 2022

With the playoffs now in store, you will see a much briefer form of this column. In this version of the column, we will only use our streaming selections to help you lift that trophy. However, if you preferred the introspective, long-form version, not to worry. At the conclusion of the Regular Season, I will be back to offer a review of the best and worst takes from the column and lessons learned moving forward.

Waiver Wire Week 15 – It’s Time to Stash!

by Theo Gremminger, December 12, 2022

The teams you play every week now will have stronger rosters. The decisions you make are more important in a single-elimination format. Every point counts. Your bench is also less important. If you are rostering a player you would never start, like a Mack Hollins type, you are better off cutting them for a defense with a strong weekly matchup or even a handcuff RB, preferably behind a banged-up starter. We also want to roster our own handcuff RB whenever possible. We only want to roster one defense during the season, but it is perfectly acceptable to roster multiple defenses during the playoffs.

The Hitchhiker’s Guide to RB: Week 14 – A Knight’s Tale

by Jakob Sanderson, December 6, 2022

This will be the last week I take a league-wide view of NFL backfields in this column. With the playoffs approaching and trade deadlines largely passed, the utility of analyzing players not already on your team, and not available on the waiver wire reduces significantly. Waiver Wire Week 13

by Theo Gremminger, November 29, 2022

White stepped in for the enigmatic and ineffective Zach Wilson and was named the starter this week, and boy, did he deliver. He passed for 315 yards and three TDs in the rain as New York dominated The Bears. White also displayed chemistry with Garrett Wilson and Elijah Moore. The Jets’ offense is pointing up, and White is firmly on the streaming radar. He is a must-add in Superflex formats and a consideration in single QB leagues.

Hitchhiker’s Guide to RB Week 12: The Samaje Pe-Line

by Jakob Sanderson, November 22, 2022

What Pollard and Williams have been able to accomplish in part-time roles all season has been remarkable, even if they’ve admittedly ran hot. This type of game is always the ceiling scenario for Williams who is essentially the James Conner of 2o22 with his run of goal-line touchdowns. We’ve talked about Williams plenty here when D’Andre Swift missed games early in the season, and honestly, his role has hardly changed. The primary driver of Williams’s variance game to game has been script rather than who else is active around him. He is the primary early-down rusher with possession over 80-percent of work inside the five. The complimentary early-down and pass-down roles opened the year as entirely D’Andre Swift’s domain.
