De’Von Achane’s season is officially over. The running back suffered an injury in the first quarter of their game against the Chiefs and could not return, and Monday morning testing has confirmed a torn ACL.
This leaves Miami’s backfield wide open, and week 3 did little to settle it. Ollie Gordon II soaked up the workhorse touches only because Jaylen Wright was sidelined with a foot injury, but he struggled to get anything going on the efficiency front, managing a paltry 2.4 yards per carry. Wright holds the athletic advantage with a 96th-percentile speed score over Gordon’s 67th percentile score, but Gordon has seen slightly more work through the first two weeks, turning an 11.3% snap share compared to Wright’s 5.7%. Fantasy football managers will need to monitor week 4 usage to determine which back will be playable moving forward.
