Veteran wide receiver Jauan Jennings is entering the 2026 NFL free agency period and is widely expected not to return to the San Francisco 49ers.  After six seasons with the franchise, the 29-year-old has been a key contributor in the passing game, leading the team in touchdown catches and stepping into a WR1 role at times in 2025, but contract negotiations stalled as the 49ers weigh their cap priorities this offseason.

Sources around the league say San Francisco is unlikely to match the kind of multi-year, market-value deal Jennings may command in free agency, making a parting of ways the most probable outcome.  With a strong veteran profile and experience in a creative offensive system, Jennings figures to draw interest from several teams looking for a reliable and physical pass-catcher.
