Sonny Styles is a linebacker and 2026 NFL Draft prospect who played four seasons at Ohio State. A native of Pickerington, Ohio and the son of former Ohio State and NFL linebacker Lorenzo Styles Sr., Styles attended Pickerington Central, reclassified to graduate early, and arrived in Columbus as a 17-year-old true freshman in 2022. He was a consensus five-star recruit, ranked 29th nationally, and spent his first two seasons developing at safety before the Ohio State staff moved him to linebacker ahead of 2024. The transition paid immediate dividends as he recorded 100 tackles, 10.5 tackles for loss and six sacks in 2024 while earning Second-Team All-Big Ten honors as part of the Buckeyes' national championship defense. In 2025 he posted 82 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss, one sack, one interception and one forced fumble across 14 games, earning All-Big Ten recognition, before declaring for the draft following his junior season. Older brother Lorenzo Styles Jr. also played at Ohio State after transferring from Notre Dame.
Standing 6-foot-5 and 244 pounds, Styles is one of the most uniquely gifted athletes in this class, running a 4.46-second 40-yard dash and posting a 43.5-inch vertical at the NFL Scouting Combine. His size-speed combination is essentially unprecedented at the linebacker position, and his coverage ability, a trait he developed extensively during two seasons as a safety, gives him a three-down profile that most linebackers simply cannot match.
