While Jayden Daniels won’t practice with the team during Thursday’s practice session, the star QB still holds out hope he’ll play in week three. Tomorrow will be his final chance to practice, and thus Friday’s injury report will be more definitive of the Commanders’ QB situation heading into the weekend.
If Daniels is unable to go, Marcus Mariota will start for the team in his place. Our last look at Mariota came in Week 18 of last season, when he combined for 217 total yards and two touchdowns on an efficient 15-of-18 passing. His added rushing ability makes him a capable spot start in deep Superflex leagues.
Daniels’ cloudy status is the last thing Terry McLaurin owners want to hear with his slow start to the season. Deebo Samuel should remain in the WR2-WR3 range in Daniels’ absence due to his usage in the Commanders’ offense. The team’s running backs, specifically Jacory Croskey-Merritt, will look to bounce back against a less stout defensive front in Las Vegas.
