2nd year receiver Jermaine Burton appears to be out of the doghouse that kept him from playing his rookie season.
Jermaine Burton was a 4 star athlete who found playing time as a freshman at Georgia despite a loaded receiving room. He had 400 receiving yards and 3 touchdowns. Burton posted similar numbers as a sophomore, but then transferred to Alabama. He then led the Crimson Tide in receiving for 2 years, despite never reaching a 1,000 yards. He was praised for his route running ability but fell in the draft to the 3rd round due to character concerns. The character concerns likely led to him being in the doghouse for his rookie year as he only had 4 catches for 104 yards on 14 targets in 14 games.
Burton athletic profile is excellent, he ran a 4.45 forty yard dash along with a 92nd percentile Burst Score. Should Burton actually get on the field he can be a good weapon to fill in for Chase or Higgins in moments of rest or injury. Burton is worthy as a stash in deep league formats especially dynasty. He will be an immediate waiver wire option should Chase or Higgins suffer injury.
