Mason Taylor Bio

Mason Taylor, born on May 8, 2004, in Plantation, Florida, is a 6-foot-5-inch, 251-pound tight end who played for the LSU Tigers from 2022 to 2024. The son of Pro Football Hall of Fame defensive end Jason Taylor and nephew of Hall of Fame linebacker Zach Thomas, Taylor has a rich football lineage. At LSU, he made an immediate impact, recording four receptions for 34 yards in his debut game. In his sophomore year, he caught the game-winning two-point conversion against Alabama, contributing to LSU's first home win over the team since 2010.

Over his three-year collegiate career, Taylor accumulated 129 receptions for 1,308 yards and six touchdowns, setting records for tight ends at LSU. In 2024, he achieved a career-high 55 receptions for 546 yards and two touchdowns. Taylor's athleticism was evident at the NFL Combine, where he posted a 4.65-second 40-yard dash and completed 28 bench press reps at 225 pounds. His versatility and potential have attracted interest from several NFL teams, including the New Orleans Saints, who recently hosted him for a visit. Taylor is projected to be selected in the early to mid-rounds of the 2025 NFL Draft, with expectations of making an immediate impact at the professional level.
