Jonnu Smith is taking his talents down to South Beach. Smith agreed on a two-year deal with the Miami Dolphins worth $10 million. Smith’s arrival fills a huge void that the Dolphins have at tight end.

The talented former Falcons tight end looks to continue where he left off in 2023. While splitting snaps with Kyle Pitts last season, Smith was surprisingly a force to be reckoned with. The veteran posted career highs of 50 receptions for 582 yards on 70 targets, while bringing in three touchdowns.

Under Mike McDaniels, the tight end has been a forgotten position. With Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle garnering most of the targets and receptions, one can see why that is the case. Smith’s athleticism and size could make the tight end be in position for a huge year, especially in the Red Zone. There is not much competition standing Smith’s way, which makes him an excellent sleeper for this upcoming season.
