Scooby Williams is a linebacker and 2026 NFL Draft prospect who played his final two seasons with the Texas A&M Aggies after three seasons at the University of Florida. A native of Birmingham, Alabama, Williams attended Ramsay High School and was rated a four-star recruit and the fourth-best prospect in the state in the 2021 class, choosing Florida over offers from Alabama and Auburn before being selected to play in the Army All-American Bowl. At Florida he appeared in 25 games with 12 starts over three seasons, recording 70 tackles, four tackles for loss, a sack, and two forced fumbles before entering the transfer portal. He joined Texas A&M ahead of the 2024 season, where he started 10 of 11 games and recorded 43 tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss, and an interception while playing through a torn meniscus that required offseason surgery. In 2025 he returned healthy but an ankle injury suffered against Notre Dame limited him to six games, recording 19 tackles, a sack, a forced fumble, and an interception before his season was cut short.
Standing 6-foot-2 and 230 pounds, Williams is known for his versatility to line up as both an off-ball linebacker and an edge rusher in sub packages, combining size, athleticism, and closing speed that gives him a distinct physical profile at the position. His combination of four-star pedigree, experience in two SEC programs, and the ability to be deployed in multiple alignments along the defensive front have kept him on NFL radar, with evaluators projecting him as a developmental linebacker who attended the 2026 Panini Senior Bowl and projects as a player who could contribute on special teams while developing into a situational pass rusher at the next level.
