Monroe Freeling is an offensive tackle and 2026 NFL Draft prospect who played his collegiate career with the Georgia Bulldogs after a decorated high school career. A native of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, Freeling attended Oceanside Collegiate Academy, where he was a consensus four-star recruit with five-star grades from On3 and PrepStar, rated as high as No. 32 overall nationally and the top prospect in South Carolina in the 2023 class, before choosing Georgia over Ohio State, Alabama, and Notre Dame. He appeared in eight games as a true freshman in 2023 while Georgia's offensive line led the SEC in fewest sacks allowed, then earned expanded playing time in 2024 with 14 appearances and five starts after injuries opened the starting left tackle spot down the stretch. He became a full-time starter in 2025, appearing in all 14 games with 13 starts, allowing just nine pressures and three sacks all season for a PFF pass blocking grade of 85.1 that ranked inside the top 20 among all FBS tackles, and earning SEC Coaches All-SEC Second Team honors along with two SEC Offensive Lineman of the Week selections. He declared early for the 2026 NFL Draft after three seasons with 37 career games and 17 total starts.
Standing 6-foot-7 and 315 pounds with an 84-inch wingspan, Freeling is known for exceptional quickness out of his stance, elite lateral mobility for his size that allows him to mirror speed rushers and peel off double-teams to reach second-level defenders in space, and the athleticism that evaluators have compared favorably to former first-round tackle Olu Fashanu. His run-blocking technique remains a work in progress, particularly in gap schemes where his tendency to play upright and lunge can create inconsistencies, but his pass protection has been polished enough to draw first-round conversation in a thin tackle class. NFL evaluators project him as a potential franchise left tackle in a wide-zone or pass-heavy scheme, where the combination of elite physical tools, rapid year-over-year improvement, and age-appropriate upside as a 22-year-old make him one of the higher-ceiling players in the 2026 class at the most premium position in the sport.
