Kaytron Allen is a running back and 2026 NFL Draft prospect who spent his entire collegiate career at Penn State University. A native of Norfolk, Virginia, Allen grew up on the east side of Norfolk and attended Norview High School before transferring to IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida, where he rushed for over 1,400 yards and scored 27 touchdowns as a senior. A four-star recruit in the 2022 class, he chose the Nittany Lions over Alabama, Ohio State, Georgia, and several other programs. Allen immediately shared the Penn State backfield with five-star teammate Nicholas Singleton and consistently produced, posting 867 yards in 2022, 902 yards in 2023, 1,108 yards in 2024, and 1,303 rushing yards and 15 touchdowns in his senior season of 2025, when he earned first-team All-Big Ten honors from both coaches and media along with a third-team Associated Press All-American selection. He finished his career as Penn State's all-time leading rusher, surpassing a record previously held by Saquon Barkley, and added 70 career receptions for 490 yards across four seasons.
Measured at 5-foot-11 220 pounds, Allen is a patient, decisive, and physically powerful downhill runner who consistently runs with excellent leverage and a low pad level, generating contact balance and leg drive that allows him to fall forward and push the pile in short-yardage situations. He runs with vision and decisiveness, allowing blocks to develop before committing with a one-cut style that maximizes the work of his offensive line. His consistency over four seasons and ability to maintain production in a shared backfield are frequently cited by evaluators as indicators of NFL readiness. Limitations include below-average top-end speed, modest explosiveness in the open field, and an underdeveloped role in the passing game that caps his three-down potential. Allen projects as a Day 2 to Day 3 selection with a well-defined role as a decisive, reliable power back who can contribute immediately in short-yardage and goal-line packages while developing into a committee starter in a gap- or man-blocking scheme.
