Jalen Walthall is a wide receiver and 2026 NFL Draft prospect who finished his collegiate career at the University of the Incarnate Word after beginning at the University of Hawaii. A native of Missouri City, Texas, Walthall is a standout multi-sport athlete who was also a Texas 5A state triple jump champion before committing to Hawaii out of Manvel High School. He transferred to Incarnate Word, where over two seasons with the Cardinals he developed into one of the most productive receivers in FCS football, totaling 192 receptions for 2,595 receiving yards and 24 touchdowns across his 40-game career. His 2024 season was exceptional as he recorded 1,290 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns, earning Southland Conference Offensive Player of the Year and Walter Payton Award finalist honors while helping UIW to a 10-2 record. He earned First-Team All-Southland honors in both 2024 and 2025 and was named a First-Team FCS All-American in 2024, and is seeking to become the first player in program history selected in the NFL Draft.
Standing at 6-2 and approximately 187 pounds, Walthall is a vertical field-stretcher with the speed, long frame, and athleticism of a player who could contribute in spread-oriented NFL passing attacks. His track background gives him elite straight-line burst and the ability to stack cornerbacks on deep routes, and his route running has shown continued refinement over his collegiate career. His career production at the FCS level, including multiple 100-yard receiving performances and consistency in big-game situations, has drawn scout interest, though questions remain about how his game will translate against NFL-caliber defensive backs. Walthall projects best as a vertical Z receiver in an Air Coryell or RPO-based system and enters the draft as a fringe roster candidate and potential priority undrafted free agent with the athletic tools to compete for a role on special teams and as a deep-threat complement at the professional level.
