Jack Kelly is a linebacker and 2026 NFL Draft prospect who finished his collegiate career with the BYU Cougars after beginning it at Weber State. A native of Kearns, Utah, Kelly attended Kearns High School and was rated a three-star recruit in the 2021 class before committing to Weber State. Over three seasons with the Wildcats he totaled 85 tackles, 20 tackles for loss, and 16.5 sacks in 28 games, including a breakout sophomore season that led the Big Sky Conference in sacks. He transferred to BYU ahead of the 2024 season when defensive coordinator Jay Hill departed Weber State for the Cougars, and over two seasons in Provo he compiled 105 total tackles and 15 sacks while serving as a team captain. His 2025 campaign was the finest of his career, producing a team-leading 10 sacks and 13.5 tackles for loss in 12 games, the most sacks by a BYU player since 2015, earning First Team All-Big 12 honors and an invitation to the 2026 Panini Senior Bowl.
Standing 6-foot-2 and 242 pounds, Kelly is known for elite closing speed, a relentless motor, and the ability to pressure quarterbacks from both inside and outside linebacker alignments in BYU's multiple defensive scheme. His combination of pass-rush production across two programs, versatility to rush off the edge or from a two-point stance as a downhill linebacker, and leadership qualities demonstrated as a BYU team captain project him as a developmental linebacker with the speed and upside to contribute as a pass rusher and on special teams at the professional level.
