LSU Tigers star quarterback Garrett Nussmeier has been one of the more intriguing quarterbacks at Senior Bowl practices, flashing the arm talent and confidence that evaluators were hoping to see in a living setting. He’s delivered the ball with zip and anticipation during team drills, consistently fitting throws into tight windows and showing comfort attacking the middle of the field. Nussmeier’s quick release and willingness to stand in the pocket have stood out, especially when pressure closes in.
Beyond the arm strength, Nussmeier has impressed with his command of the offense and competitive demeanor. He’s taken coaching well, made quick adjustments from rep to rep, and shown leadership in the huddle. While he can still be aggressive to a fault at times, Garrett Nussmeier brought home the Offensive MVP during the Senior Bowl! He has helped his draft stock during the Senior Bowl week and game. Look for his name to be called on Day 2.

6 college quarterbacks will participate in the Senior Bowl to showcase their skills in front of NFL scouts.
The 2026 NFL Draft will be here before we know it! This draft class of quarterbacks is considered one of the weakest in a long time. Indiana’s Fernando Mendoza is the only current quarterback that is worthy of a 1st round pick, especially since Oregon’s Dante Moore has decided to return for another year.
The Senior Bowl is very important for these other quarterbacks to showcase their skills and knowledge to NFL scouts at one location. For one reason or another these 6 quarterbacks were not considered top picks in the draft. These quarterbacks includes Diego Pavia (Vanderbilt), Luke Altmeyer ( Illinois), Cole Payton (North Dakota State), Garrett Nussmeyer ( LSU), Sawyer Robinson (Baylor), and Taylen Green (Arkansa).
The Senior Bowl will be make or break for all of these players, impressing the scouts will go a long way in prolonging their career at NFL quarterback. Keep your eye out for more information during and after the Senior Bowl to see how each player has done to improve their stock?
