Ethan Onianwa is an offensive lineman and 2026 NFL Draft prospect who finished his collegiate career with the Ohio State Buckeyes after spending four seasons at Rice. A native of Katy, Texas, Onianwa attended Cinco Ranch High School and was rated a three-star recruit in the 2021 class before committing to Rice, where he redshirted as a true freshman and went on to start 34 games, including 25 consecutive starts at right tackle in 2022 and 2023 before shifting to left tackle for the 2024 season. After entering the transfer portal as the top-rated offensive lineman available, he joined Ohio State ahead of the 2025 season, where he appeared in all 14 games and contributed to the Buckeyes' offensive line while logging 173 snaps. He was invited to the 2026 Panini Senior Bowl, where he continued to draw attention for his combination of rare size, length, and athleticism, including a background as a three-year baseball letterman.
Standing 6-foot-7 and 331 pounds, Onianwa is known for impressive arm length, a thick and wide-bodied frame, and the athletic background of a former multi-sport athlete that gives him natural movement skills uncommon for his size. NFL evaluators project him as a developmental interior offensive lineman at the next level, where his best projection is at guard, and teams believe that with continued refinement of his hand placement, pad level, and pass-protection technique under quality NFL coaching, his rare physical tools give him the upside to develop into a starting interior lineman over the course of his rookie contract.
