Chase Roberts is a wide receiver and 2026 NFL Draft prospect who spent his entire collegiate career at BYU. A native of Highland, Utah, Roberts enrolled at BYU after serving a two-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, following in his father Kyle's footsteps as a Cougar. He joined the program in 2021, redshirted due to injury, and worked his way into the offense as a contributor in 2022 with 22 receptions for 357 yards and three touchdowns. He became a starter in 2023 with 42 catches for 573 yards and five touchdowns, then had his two best seasons back-to-back, posting 52 receptions for 854 yards and four touchdowns in 2024 and 54 catches for 802 yards and six touchdowns in 2025 while earning third-team All-Big 12 honors as a team captain. Roberts finished his career eighth on BYU's all-time receptions leaderboard and seventh in receiving yards, having been twice considered for early declaration before ultimately completing his career with the Cougars.
Measured at 6-foot-4 and 210 pounds, Roberts is a prototypical X-receiver build who uses his size and length to box out defenders, finish catches in traffic, and win in the red zone, where he converted 10 touchdowns over his final two seasons. He is a smooth, patient route runner who uses tempo changes and head fakes to create windows rather than relying on elite separation speed, and he shows the ability to work across the field at multiple route depths. He ran a 4.64 in the 40-yard dash at the Combine, confirming that he wins through technique, body control, and contested-catch ability rather than vertical speed, and evaluators acknowledge he will not be an NFL separator on deep throws.
