Barion Brown Bio

Barion Brown is a wide receiver and 2026 NFL Draft prospect who played his final collegiate season at LSU after three seasons at the University of Kentucky. A native of Nashville, Tennessee, Brown was a highly recruited prospect in the 2022 class out of Pearl-Cohn Comprehensive High School and immediately became one of the most dynamic playmakers in the SEC as a true freshman with the Wildcats, setting school records for receiving yards by a freshman with 628. His sophomore season brought All-America recognition as a return specialist, including an SEC-record-tying three kickoff return touchdowns in a single season. Over three years at Kentucky, Brown accumulated more than 3,200 all-purpose yards, set the school's career records for kickoff return touchdowns and kickoff return average at 30.33 yards per attempt, and caught 122 passes for 1,528 yards and 11 touchdowns. He transferred to LSU for his final season in 2025, leading the Tigers in receptions with 53 catches for 532 yards and one touchdown while adding a 99-yard kickoff return touchdown in the Texas Bowl to set the SEC career record with six kickoff return touchdowns. He finished his college career with 175 receptions for 2,060 yards and 20 total touchdowns.

Standing about 5-foot-10 and 176 pounds with a 4.28-second 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine, Brown brings track-level speed to both the receiver and return specialist positions. He was a state champion in the 100 and 200-meter dash in Tennessee and carries that track background directly onto the football field, where his acceleration and top-end speed consistently separate him from defenders in the open field. He is most dangerous as a weapon in space and as a special teams threat, and his value at the next level will depend heavily on how creative an offense is willing to be in deploying him. His modest catch totals and limited route tree experience are factors evaluators will weigh, as he has been utilized primarily on quick throws and as a returner rather than as a traditional three-level receiver. NFL teams project Brown as a Day 3 selection whose return ability alone gives him a high floor for making a roster, with the potential to contribute as an explosive gadget option on offense.
