Alan Herron is an offensive tackle and 2026 NFL Draft prospect who finished his collegiate career with the Maryland Terrapins after beginning it at Division II Shorter University. A native of Westmoreland, Jamaica, Herron attended Banneker High School and enrolled at Shorter University as an unranked recruit in the 2022 class before transferring to Maryland in 2024. He immediately won the starting right tackle job with the Terrapins and never let go, starting all 24 games across his two seasons in College Park and earning Honorable Mention All-Big Ten recognition in 2025. In his final season he earned an 80.3 PFF pass blocking grade while helping anchor a Maryland offensive line that allowed just nine sacks, tied for fifth-fewest in the country and second-fewest in the Big Ten. He earned invitations to both the 2026 Panini Senior Bowl and the NFL Scouting Combine, and also received Maryland's George C. Cook Memorial Award as the senior with the highest GPA.
Standing 6-foot-5 and 321 pounds, Herron is known for solid initial quickness and power at the point of attack, the ability to cover up and wall off defenders on down blocks and angle-drives, and impressive athleticism for his size that was evident in his combine testing. His combination of two full seasons of Big Ten starting experience, strong pass blocking metrics, and elite academic credentials project him as a developmental offensive tackle who NFL evaluators see as a candidate to kick inside to guard, where his strength, technique, and football intelligence give him a realistic path to earning a spot on an NFL roster.
