Aaron Anderson is a wide receiver and 2026 NFL Draft prospect who played his final seasons at LSU after beginning his collegiate career at Alabama. A native of New Orleans, Louisiana, Anderson was a consensus five-star recruit in the 2022 class, ranked as the top player in Louisiana and among the top receivers nationally before choosing Alabama. He appeared in just one game for the Crimson Tide as a true freshman before transferring to LSU in 2023, where he contributed in 11 games with 12 catches for 59 yards while also serving as a return specialist. He broke out in 2024 as LSU's leading receiver, hauling in 61 receptions for 884 yards and five touchdowns, ranking third in the SEC in catches and seventh in receiving yards, and adding a 100-yard kickoff return for a touchdown against Oklahoma. A knee injury limited him to nine games in 2025, during which he finished with 33 receptions for 398 yards before opting to declare for the 2026 NFL Draft with one year of eligibility remaining.
Measured at 5-foot-8 and 188 to 191 pounds, Anderson is a compact, muscular slot receiver with elite short-area burst, verified 4.3-second speed, and the explosiveness to create instant separation on inside breaking routes. His route craft from the slot is advanced for his experience level, featuring sharp plants at route breaks, varied releases against press, and strong awareness against zone coverage to find voids and settle into open windows. He transitions smoothly from receiver to runner after the catch and has been used extensively on screens and jet motion packages to exploit his open-field evasiveness. His primary limitations are his small stature, which will restrict him to a slot-only profile at the next level, and a knee injury history that evaluators will monitor through workouts. Anderson projects as a Day 3 pick with immediate special teams value and the athleticism and route craft to carve out a role as a dynamic slot weapon in a quick-tempo NFL offense.
