Robert Spears-Jennings Bio

Robert Spears-Jennings is a defensive back prospect from the Oklahoma Sooners football who developed into a key contributor in the program’s secondary during his collegiate career. A native of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Spears-Jennings attended Broken Arrow High School, where he starred on both sides of the ball at safety and wide receiver. As a senior he recorded 56 tackles and four interceptions on defense while adding 36 receptions for 626 yards and eight touchdowns offensively, earning Oklahoma All-District 6A-I Safety of the Year honors. A consensus four-star recruit and one of the top prospects in the state, he committed to Oklahoma and joined the Sooners in the 2022 recruiting class.

At Oklahoma, Spears-Jennings steadily grew from a rotational defensive back into a starting safety and physical presence in the secondary. The 6-foot, 213-pound defender posted 119 career tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss, multiple forced fumbles, and an interception during his time with the Sooners, showing strong run support and versatility as a box or nickel safety. In 2024 he had a breakout campaign with 66 tackles, 2.5 sacks, and four forced fumbles while starting 11 games. Known for his size and athleticism, Spears-Jennings boosted his draft profile with an impressive performance at the NFL Scouting Combine, where he ran a 4.32-second 40-yard dash, one of the fastest times recorded by a safety of his size. His speed, physical tackling, and special teams potential have positioned him as a developmental defensive back prospect for the National Football League.
