Drew Shelton is an offensive tackle and 2026 NFL Draft prospect who played his entire collegiate career with the Penn State Nittany Lions. A native of Downingtown, Pennsylvania, Shelton was a four-star recruit in the 2022 class, ranked the No. 3 overall prospect in Pennsylvania and the No. 14 offensive tackle nationally, choosing Penn State over Notre Dame, Michigan, and Stanford. He came in expecting to redshirt but was thrust into action early when starter Olu Fashanu was injured, appearing in seven games with five starts at left tackle as a true freshman in 2022. His sophomore season saw him contribute in a versatile reserve role, lining up at multiple positions including center and guard, and earning Academic All-Big Ten recognition. He reclaimed the starting left tackle job as a junior in 2024, starting all 16 games during Penn State's College Football Playoff run and earning All-Big Ten Honorable Mention recognition. He returned for a senior season in 2025, again starting at left tackle and logging over 700 offensive snaps. He finished his career with 34 starts across four seasons and was invited to the 2026 NFL Scouting Combine.
Standing 6-foot-5 and 305 pounds, Shelton is known as one of the most athletic offensive tackles in the 2026 class, with exceptional lateral quickness and foot speed that allow him to mirror edge rushers, execute zone reach blocks, and reach second-level defenders in space with ease uncommon for his position. His pass protection took a clear step forward in his final season, allowing just one sack across more than 350 pass-blocking snaps in 2025, and his hand timing and recovery balance give him a second chance on pass sets that most linemen do not get. NFL evaluators project him as a developmental left or right tackle whose high athletic ceiling in zone-blocking schemes and demonstrated year-over-year improvement position him as a Day 2 or early Day 3 prospect, with the caveat that continued strength development and improved run-blocking consistency are necessary for him to grow into a reliable starting-caliber tackle at the professional level.
